Problem Based Learning, like Inquiry, is student driven.  Students pick the problem and seek the guidance of a teacher/facilitator, and start digging into the literature. They are tapping standards across multiple disciplines; they are thinking deeply, creatively and critically; they are engaged in learning that is personal to them.
