A Rationale for Addressing The Social Emotional Learning For All Students, including the Gifted

All students confront challenges on their journey to adulthood, both cognitively and emotionally.  Schools need to approach this emotional needs through a variety of strategies, including counseling, storytelling, bibliotherapy, video-therapy, music theory, proactive counseling, mindfulness training, etc.  Read closely the SEL User’s Guide.  You will see that a strong SEL program in schools positively impact student achievement.  Please remember to attend to both their cognitive needs and their social emotional needs.
